Healing with Awareness: Opening the Heart
Forgiveness Meditation
Imagine one person
who has hurt you, and decide if you’re ready to do the work
of healing that hurt. Allow the possibility for forgiveness to
fill the space being held by blame and accusation towards that
person and/or yourself.
There will be a brief talk about the work of forgiving, a guided
meditation into the heart of forgiveness, and time to talk together
afterwards.
Bring curiosity and sincerity to this evening program and leave
with a more open heart.
Compassion Meditation
Three guided meditations will gently carry each of
us into our heart, where compassion is its natural expression.
This evening’s program takes us to the place in our hearts
that is compassion… we are guided to an experience of empathy,
compassion for someone we know that is having a hard time, and for
ourselves.
There will be brief talk about what gets I the way of compassion,
and an opportunity for group discussion.
Awareness Meditation
This evening’s program will introduce a simple
meditation practice that helps develop awareness. If you have ever
said to yourself, “I know I should meditate but I can’t
sit still”…or ” I’ve tried, but I just can’t
quiet this busy mind”…this is the class for you!
When we meditate, we cultivate awareness. When we are more aware,
we are naturally more compassionate and forgiving. We also have more
clarity about what is loving and what is not loving. We handle stress
and pain better, and experience more balance, joy, and gratitude.
Padme has been guiding beginners for more than ten years. She will
give a talk about awareness, offer guidance and instruction for meditation,
and offer a brief meditation period. She welcomes questions.
Confidentiality is required of all participants and
no one will have to share anything personal, unless they wish.
