*A note from Padme:

Many years ago when I was in therapy, there came a point when I knew enough of my early years to recognize the pain I was experiencing in relationships. There was a deep appreciation for everything I learned about myself in therapy. Yet, I still got angry, was critical of others, and often felt confused. I learned to cope with the history I’d explored in therapy, but that wasn’t enough for me. Coping means recognizing and knowing how to live with suffering. I wanted to be free from suffering. And so I wanted to know what was next. For me, years of meditation and self-inquiry were the lifeline I needed to the freedom I sought.

People often ask how my sessions differ from traditional counseling. Traditional psychotherapy can help us discover our life story. In Loving Presence Guidance, within an atmosphere of open, gentle, self-inquiry, we explore what’s true and what’s not about our life stories. This exploration helps us feel less stressed and more open to life as it is. We become free from our attachment to pain-producing thoughts and beliefs. We become more in touch with the body/mind, and cultivate a new relationship with thought. Each at our own pace, we move beyond coping with life’s challenges to being truly alive with what is.

When my time is requested, I offer my experience with a prayer that my presence and words be of service.
